Description

Essential Functions:

  1. Inspects, supervises, and supports the building kitchen foodservice staff in the daily operations of the food service meal, a la carte and catering programs to ensure that standards of menus, preparation, serving, cleanliness, health and safety are being maintained.  Recommends or initiates corrective action.
  2. Staffs, inspects, supervises, and supports the operations of catered events.
  3. Maintains product and service quality standards by conducting ongoing evaluations and investigating complaints. Recommends or initiates corrective action.
  4. Assists in the resolution of problems/issues with food service personnel. Coordinates the evaluations of food service staff.
  5. Recommends and maintains applicable preventative maintenance programs to protect the physical assets of the department.
  6. Assists in the maintenance of a security function that protects both the assets of the unit and the personal safety of employees and customers.
  7. Develops new programs that result in an increased level of customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
  8. Manages in compliance with established district policies and procedures, local, state, federal laws and regulations.
  9. Assists with special projects as assigned.
  10. Reacts to change productively and handles other duties as assigned.
  11. Is able to build and maintain a supportive, positive, and efficient work environment with foodservice and school staff.    
  12. Maintains inventory and is able to place food orders based on inventory stock and menu needs.
  13. Read and execute USDA standardized recipes.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education Level: High school diploma or equivalent at least one year of relevant school nutrition programs experience 
  • Certification or Licensure: SERVSAFE preferred

 

Experience:

3 years of successful experience in all phases of preparation, serving and daily operation in school food service preferred.

Knowledge of NSL & Breakfast Program crediting and requirements preferred.  Knowledge of CACFP and SFSP preferred.

 Computer skills:

 Microsoft Word and Excel (or equivalent), internet browsing and email. Infinite Campus experience preferred.

 

Special Requirements:

Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Must be able to lift at least 25lbs from the floor.

Must be able to perform repetitive tasks involving hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder and back motions.

Must be able to pass background check, drug screening and physical.

 

Hours:

Tuesday – Friday   6:00am- 2:30 pm
